Nine-Twelve Tapes

Adapted for the stage by Leegrid Stevens

One September 12th 2001, a young man grabbed a cassette recorder and hit the streets compelled to speak with strangers about the attacks on the World Trade Center.  Over the next several days he recorded the thoughts and emotions of anywone who would speak with him.  The resulting interviews have been re-created as they appear on the original cassettes, with all the confusion and immediacy of those days intact.

Note: The interviews used in the creation of this play were conducted by the following people under the directino of Collin Daniels.  Primary interviewers were: Collin Daniels, Laurie L. Hughes, David Johnson, Angela Odom, and Jane Schrantz.  Additional creative and adminstrative support was provided by Cass Wright Johnson, Erica Jones, Erik Melver, Matthew F. Morgan, Leslie Dock Muenzen, Arnsas Thomas Savas, and Shannon Michael Wamser.
